We've put together a short video that explains what Conscium actually is in three minutes. It's called "Conscium: Pioneering, Safe, Efficient AI," and if you've read about us but never quite understood why a company would describe itself as an applied AI consciousness research organisation, this is the fastest way to get it.
Why we made a video instead of writing another page of copyConscium sits at the intersection of two things that don't usually appear in the same sentence: rigorous AI safety engineering, and the genuinely strange question of whether machines can have experiences. Explaining that in text tends to read as either too technical or too speculative, depending on which half you lead with. Video lets us hold both halves together, the practical safety and efficiency work alongside the consciousness research, in a way that a page of prose struggles to.
What the video actually covers
It sets out who we are in plain terms: the world's first applied AI consciousness research organisation, working on building AI that's safer and more efficient by taking seriously questions most of the industry brackets off as philosophy rather than engineering. That includes verifying whether AI agents are actually doing what they're supposed to, and researching whether artificial consciousness is achievable, and what follows if it is.
Why I think this matters right now
AI systems are being deployed faster than anyone is verifying they behave the way they're meant to, and the consciousness question is moving from academic curiosity to something labs will have to answer whether they're ready or not. Conscium exists because Daniel and I think both of those problems deserve serious, funded, applied research rather than being left to conference panels. The video is our attempt to say that clearly, once, in a format people will actually watch to the end.
